What is Salsa?

Salsa is an energetic Latin partner dance with strong Afro-Cuban and Caribbean roots, known for its rhythm, musicality, footwork, turns and connection between partners. Influenced by Cuban son, mambo and rumba, Salsa has developed into a diverse international dance with styles including Cuban Salsa (Casino), LA Style (On1), New York Style (On2), Puerto Rican Style, Colombian/Cali Style and Rueda de Casino.
